In this critical lockdown period, every cricket lover in the world had missed the real ‘Dhanadhan Carnival’. Yes, we are talking about the Indian Premier League (IPL), the biggest cricket league in the world which has been sticking millions of the faces to the Televisions every summer for more than a decade.
Due to this COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was postponed and everyone thought that there won’t be IPL this year considering the intensity of the virus’ transmission. But, under the exemptions and relations provided by the center in the Lockdown 4.0, they have permitted to conduct cricket matches in a closed stadium.
So, the matches can be conducted in the absence of the audience in the stands. Still, the confusion prevails as the BCCI hasn’t given any information about the IPL yet. The restrictions for the entry of the foreign players is still a factor and without them, the sponsors and franchises won’t move forward.
It is such a huge challenge for BCCI to conduct the league without the foreign players and they are many other factors linked to it. Still, it is a reliable option to conduct IPL without the foreign players so that they can recover from the losses that occurred due to this postponement. Let’s hope for good news soon.
