By creating such a platform, the organizers aim to highlight the enthusiasm and passion many women have for cricket, even outside professional sports.

According to the organizers, the primary objective of the Women’s Cricket League is to celebrate the determination, strength, and unity of women who balance family responsibilities, careers, and personal aspirations while continuing to move forward in life. A total of 96 women representing six franchises will participate in the tournament. The players come from varied backgrounds including the film industry, corporate sector, homemakers, and several other communities, making the league a vibrant celebration of diversity and sporting spirit.

Speaking on the occasion, producer T.G. Vishwa Prasad said that women’s cricket did not receive much recognition in the past, but in recent years it has gained tremendous popularity alongside men’s cricket. He noted that audiences are increasingly watching and supporting women’s cricket, which is helping the sport grow significantly.
