In order to stop the possible outbreak of the new Covid-19 variant “Omicron”, the center has been implementing strict measures and keenly checking every passenger, who are traveling from the other countries, especially ‘at risk countries’.
As per reports, a 35-year-old passenger who reached the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport from the United Kingdom was found positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday.
After the RT-PCR test at the airport itself revealed the diagnosis of the woman, the officials have taken her to the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS). The samples collected were sent for genetic sequencing. However, the passenger didn’t exhibit any symptoms. The woman hails from Rangareddy district and was on a visit to the UK from Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, the Telangana government has
ordered that not wearing a face mask in public places will attract a penalty of Rs 1,000. This decision was taken after the state witnessed a rise in the Covid cases for the past 4 days.
