In the past, Jaganmohan Reddy made some crucial remarks on the Legislative council. He termed the Legislative council as ‘Completely Useless’. He said that they were going to dissolve the council by June 2020.
The Jagan government sent a bill to the center regarding the dissolution of the council. If the center passes a bill in parliament and if the President approves it, then the Legislative council would get dissolved. So far, the Union govt has ignored it.
Due to covid, the Parliament is responding only to the important bills by keeping aside the non-essential bills such as the dissolution of the council.
If the Parliament clears all the proposals, then it will approve the dissolution bill and dissolves the council. But now a debate is going on in the YCP that Jagan should withdraw the resolution because in the next 3 months the majority of members in the council belong to YCP.
Even during his visit to Delhi, CM Jagan hasn’t asked the Center not to approve the bill. If the Legislative council is dissolved then there will be an immense loss to YCP.
