The YSRCP has never said anything about early elections, despite opposition leader, TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu talking about the same several times, strongly arguing that there would be early elections in the state and that everyone in the TDP needs to be prepared for the same. The party even started to prepare for that on a big stage, with its Mahanadu meetings and other campaigns.
On the other hand, despite the stance that they are maintaining, the YSRCP government seems to be very much in the idea of going for early elections, judging by the way the YSRCP is carrying out its campaigns. The CM recently instructed all the members of the party to make sure that they are in constant touch with the people of the state, and that they keep reminding the public of every good deed that the party has done, turning them into votes.
Given that the elections are at least a year and a half away, it is quite strange that the YSRCP would want to go around, asking for votes from the public, at such an early stage as this. With such care being taken from now on, one can’t help but wonder if CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is indeed planning for early elections, and why he is so hasty about it, if that’s the case.
