Former CEO of the popular Telugu Media Channel TV9, Ravi Prakash was granted anticipatory bail by the High Court in connection to a case of misusing funds that was filed by Enforcement Directorate. The court expressed displeasure over several cases being filed against Ravi Prakash on a single issue.
The case that was primarily filed on Ravi Prakash was an old one. He withdrew the funds that actually belong to the channel illegally citing ‘Bonus’ as the reason. A case was registered against him in October last year and of course, he was sent to jail and was released on bail. Later, high court asked the two sides to settle this issue peacefully.
Now, Ravi Prakash got the info that once again the TV9 management is trying to target him. Actually the bonus amount was received by all the TV9 employees along with Ravi Prakash, but here the CEO is the only person that has been blamed all these days. ED has no reason to involve in this issue but the officials of Enforcement Directorate (ED) booked a case against Ravi Prakash earlier this month under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Somehow they sent this case to trials and Ravi was placed behind bars for some period.
Now, Ravi Prakash was facing a whole lot of problems with the new management of TV9. Though he has ‘shares’ in the organization, he was deeply humiliated and sent out from the channel and now they are looking to file some additional cases against him and for the reasons best known to them.
However, citing all these reasons, Ravi Prakash approached the High Court to grant him bail in the ED case preventing his arrest. Besides giving the bail, the court asked for two sureties of Rs one lakh each and also directed him to appear before the ED officials on every Saturday.
