The cyber crime department in AP has been in the news regularly for the past few months. In the advent of Social media, the various controversial handles that bully celebrities, popular leaders and often the people in ministerial posts are under the surveillance of the cyber crime department but it is being alleged that the Cyber Crime department has been partial all these days.
Many opposition leaders allege that only their party members are being interrogated and arrested by the cyber crime department and their complaints on the ruling party are not even considered as their secondary concern. There has been constant criticism that the cyber crime department heeds to the voice of the ruling party’s allegations on others and files cases on the opposition party members accordingly for some petty fb posts.
Recently, former Lawmaker and Telugu Desam Party(TDP) women wing President Vangalapudi Anitha expressed her dissatisfaction over the cyber crime department for not taking action on her case of the ‘cyber bullying’. She lambasted the Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister that no ‘Disha act’ is in force here as there is no proper response to her complaint yet.
Anitha has lodged a complaint in June this year over the online harassment and also submitted a video supporting her allegations but reportedly no action has been taken on her complaint. There are several instances where the Cyber crime officials took the TDP followers into custody at night the very day a complaint was filed by the YSRCP leaders over some objectionary social media posts.
