Earlier there were reports that Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor was approached by the makers of Pushpa 2 regarding the item song in the film. It was first heard that she might be doing this song, but this was scrapped later, perhaps due to her unavailability.
However, this doesn’t appear to have tempered with Janvi Akhilesh towards Telugu cinema and also the second part of Pushpa. She has defended the film on Instagram and what could be considered and interesting exchange.
In a heated social media debate, it was mentioned that Pushpa 2’s release meant that Interstellar is not re-released in India this weekend.
In response, Janhvi Kapoor wrote “Pushpa 2 is also cinema. Why are we so obsessed with idolising the west and running down things that come out of our own country and instantly disqualifying it from being considered as worthy? The same rooted representation and larger than life tone other countries appreciate and our fascinated by our cinema for, we ourselves are embarrassed of. Sad.”
Is this defending act a part of Janhvi’s bonding with Telugu cinema, given that she already did Devara here and is working on Ram Charan’s film now?
