Akhil Akkineni initially gave the green signal to a high-budget film with UV Productions, directed by new filmmaker Anil. Titled “Dheera,” the project was set with a budget of around 100 crores.
However, suddenly, this project has been put on hold. Even before there was clarity on this, Akhil signed another movie with director Murali Kishore, known for “Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha.”
Reports suggest that this shift was influenced by Nagarjuna, who advised against jumping into another big-budget film after the failure of “Agent.” Instead, Akhil’s focus is now on gaining a solid footing with a commercially successful film first.
The new movie with Murali Kishore is expected to be a love story set in the 1980s with a Rayalaseema backdrop. This film will be produced under the Annapurna banner, with hopes of setting a new direction for Akhil’s career before revisiting the UV project.
