YSRCP MLA Roja, who was anticipated to be one of the ministers in Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cabinet, sadly couldn’t bag the position.
Jagan has released the list of cabinet ministers on Friday and preferred maximum number of ministers from the BC community, while several felt the CM’s own community ‘Reddies’ will get the highest priority. Adding to it, a few of the key leaders of the party like Roja had to face disappointment for not being inducted into the cabinet.
Roja was elected as an MLA for the first time in 2014, but she had to face several insults in assembly, in her first tenure. Several attempts were made against the firebrand leader to get her out of the assembly and at a point of time, such attempts were found successful too.
Going with the rumors in the political circles, joining hands with TDP leaders, a few of the YSRCP leaders have intentionally targeted Roja and tried to malign her image in assembly. The same people were now successful in keeping her away from the cabinet.
Even in the last five years, if there’s anyone who was troubled a lot in Chandrababu Naidu’s regime, Roja will be the first in the list as that was the kind of contribution she did for YSRCP.
Several such reasons made Roja, one of the key leaders of the party and so was anticipated to be inducted into Jagan’s cabinet for sure. But after her name was not found in the list, several speculations were out in the media. While a few opine that YSRCP leaders convinced Jagan to keep her away, few others say that the young CM itself is not willing to have her in his cabinet. However, Jagan assured that those who were not offered minister post, will get other key positions in the party.
Adding to it, the state government has also announced that there would reshuffling of the cabinet after 2.5 years, so it should be seen whether the Nagari MLA will be considered in the second half of YSRCP government’s tenure.
