As reported by us earlier in the day today, the government of Andhra Pradesh has launched the WhatsApp based services for 161 government programs. IT Minister Lokesh took Twitter to explain the significance of this WhatsApp mechanism.
”For the first time in the country, I formally launched WhatsApp Governance under the name of Mana Mitra at my residence in Undavalli. For this, the official WhatsApp number 9552300009 was allocated. We started with the slogan ‘Mana Mitra’, government in the hands of the people, governance in the hands of the people, ours is a people’s government. We have kept the promise of the padayatra. We have brought WhatsApp Governance so that no one should have to bother for certificates.
Nowhere in the world have so many services been provided through a single platform. In the first phase, we are making 161 civil services available. In the second phase, we will start 360 civil services. WhatsApp Governance is the bridge between the government and the people. Meta India Vice President and Head Sandhya Devanathan, WhatsApp Director and India Head Ravi Garg, IT Electronics and Communication Secretary Bhaskar Katamaneni, and RTGS CEO K. Dinesh participated in the event.” He tweeted in this context.
