The ‘Phone tapping’ issue has created enough sensation in the state after the leader of the opposition, Chandra Babu Naidu wrote a letter to PM Modi raising concerns over the alleged activities by the ruling party in association with some private persons.
Of course, AP DGP, Gautam Sawang stepped up into the act asking CBN for evidence that would possibly support the latter’s allegations. This is such an unexpected shock to the TDP cadre and the political unit as the AP police generally won’t involve in these kinds of issues.
However, Naidu needs to submit basic info regarding the allegations he made against the ever-powerful AP government. Now, the only question left is what will be Naidu’s counter to Sawang? First of all, many judges from the AP raised suspicions over this tapping issue but no Police official came forward to look into it until CBN raised concerns over the possible threat to the national security from the AP government.
Now, the word from TDP party circles is that Naidu may provide some basic info and cite the suspicions of some judiciary members that can be related to his allegations of the phone tapping. DGP, as a responsible person needs to probe this thing from the next moment. Hence, maybe Naidu doesn’t have supporting evidence but his allegations are not at all baseless. The entire TDP cadre hopes that their supremo can get away with this.
