It is known that the schools all over the country were shut in the wake of COVID pandemic for almost 7 months. After the intensity of the virus was reduced, every state started to open schools with some regulations.
The Andhra Pradesh Government reopened the schools a month back despite facing severe backlash.
On the other hand, the other Telugu speaking state Telangana is yet to take a decisison on the re-opening of the schools. Private schools somehow managed to run online classes. The syllabus is also being completed. But the performance of government schools has worsened.
It is the poor students in the villages who have been to government schools. It is very difficult for them to have smartphones and gadgets available.

Till now, the two hour programmes that are available on Telivision has been the education for them since the imposition of the Lockdown. Even the parents of poor rural parents are illiterate and hence most of the kids are beng sent to labour for daily wages.
Even during the regular days, we can witness sheer negligence from the government school faculties and no one can expect the online classes from them.
This has led to sharp criticism of government teachers as well. The teacher unions responded in this order. They say they will teach lessons if the government responds and opens schools.
The government has not yet commented on thsi issue. The government has already suggested that online lessons be taught. But most students do not have the electronic gadgets that are required. If the situation continues like this for long epriods, they children will lose one entire academic year.
