The Andhra Pradesh government very infamously announced a major slash in ticket prices in the state late last year, and it seemed impossible to sway the government. However, this did happen ultimately, with several Tollywood celebrities managing to convince the government after a delegation met with the CM. It was then established that only a few films would get an exception for ticket price hike in the state, that met the rules laid down by the government, and that other films wouldn’t.
However, all of this seems to have gone for a toss, with the government now allowing ticket price hikes for almost every film that is putting forth a request. This is making everyone wonder exactly how serious the government was, to begin with, regarding its statement, when it said that entertainment shouldn’t be commercialised. The ticket prices in AP are now on par with the ticket prices in Telangana.
This is also making one wonder if the government’s GO regarding ticket prices is only limited to Pawan Kalyan’s films, as the AP government has a vendetta against Pawan, who never backs down when he has to comment against the government’s misdeeds, during his political statements and activities.
