Former Minister YS Vivekananda Reddy’s Murder case has taken another turn. The Supreme Court gave a key verdict on the trial of this case. The judgment was passed transferring the investigation of this case to Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.
A bench comprising Justice MR Shah and Justice BV Nagarathna transferred the case to the Hyderabad CBI Special Court. The Supreme Court bench said that the transfer of the case was for the purpose of conducting the criminal investigation impartially. The court also directed to register an FIR on conspiracy to destroy evidence.
Viveka’s daughter Sunitha Reddy has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking to transfer the trial of the case to another state saying that the accused are threatening the witnesses in her father’s murder case. She requested that it be transferred to another state and supervised. The Supreme Court held a hearing on the petition filed by Sunitha Reddy.
YS Vivekananda Reddy was brutally murdered at his home on March 14, 2019.
