Since the commencement of his Varahi Yatra in Visakhapatnam, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan has been facing efforts by the police department to limit his outreach to a large number of people. Several unusual restrictions have been imposed on his visit.
The police have now issued a notice to Janasenani for allegedly disregarding police protocols. In the notice issued by the police, they claim that his verbal expressions and harsh criticisms are unfounded, derogatory, and have the potential to incite individuals and propagate animosity among various groups.
Recently, restrictions were placed on holding a media conference near Rushikonda, with the police directing the event to be organized near GITAM University instead. Janasena leaders and activists have expressed their discontent with the police’s actions. They are questioning whether Rushikonda is indeed a restricted area. Advocates of Jana Sena argue that constraints on the freedom of expression and fundamental rights constitute a violation of the Constitution. A party leader stated that the police notice is an endeavour to suppress the voice of Janasenani.
