Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who is known for his aggression in the field, was reprimanded by the Indian Premier League (IPL) for violating its code of conduct during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai on Wednesday.
The RCB skipper has come under the radar of the IPL committee for smashing the boundary rope and then a chair at the RCB dugout after he got dismissed for 33 in the last night match.
According to an IPL release, Kohli accepted the offence – a Level I breach of the code of conduct.
“RCB captain Virat Kohli has been reprimanded for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Kohli admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.2 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” the release said.
However, Kohli escaped from any fine or ban and received a warning, pressing that a repeat of such an offence could have a severe consequence.
