The government of Andhra Pradesh, led by Chandrababu Naidu has announced the flood relief packages for those who are affected by the drastic floods in Vijayawada.
CM Chandrababu announced a financial compensation of Rs 25,000 for those who reside in ground-floors(sunk in floods) and Rs 10,000 for those in the first floors.
Commercial properties, including general stores and other related outlets will be given a compensation of Rs 25,000 per head. This will go directly to the shop owners.
However, the government announced that these gains are only to the tenants residing in the properties and not to the owners. The owners are instructed to get insurance from the insurance companies.
Chandrababu made it clear that the government will soon hold talks with the insurance companies to clear the formalities for disbursement of funds for those who lost vehicles due to the floods.
