CM Chandrababu Naidu is a proven crisis man who is versed in retaining natural balance in the hour of distress. His work during the Hudhud cyclone where electricity and food supply were restored in a matter of hours despite the severe destruction is still fresh in the memory. And in his new tenure, Babu has already been met with the challenge by the torrential rains in the state.
In particular, Vijayawad took the brunt of the excessive rainfall as the city saw a whopping 29 CMs rainfall in a single day which is the highest recorded tally in the last 30 years.
In view of the treacherous situation in Vijayawada, CM Babu has decided to make the Vijayawada collectorate a new makeshift house of his. He is currently stationed at the Vijayawada collectorate, directing the government officials and ministers on how to carry out the resurrection works. He instructed the government authorities to procure milk and biscuit packets from the shops in the area and move them to flood-relief areas.
The top priority has been paid towards supplying milk, food, torchlight, sanitary material, and water to the affected public. In order to monitor the situation from ground zero, Babu has stationed himself at the collectorate and he will be sleeping in his bus tonight. He vows to leave Vijayawada only after he is done with the flood relief activities and in tune with this, he spent a sleepless night last night as he carried on with the relief activities.
