While everyone doubted that there’s no move from YSRCP, regarding the EVMs issue, YSRCP leader Vijay Sai Reddy now came forward responding to it.
Seeking the protection of the EVMs in the strong rooms, he has written a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner to deploy the Central Reserve Police for the purpose. Reddy said that he lacks confidence on AP police, as the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu would influence them in any manner. Reddy also thanked the EC for conducting the free and fair polling in AP.
“As the Chief Minister himself is making the allegations against EC and is also protesting against it, we request the central forces like CISF, CRPF etc to take the strong rooms under their control,” Reddy wrote to CEC.
He also requested for the installation of the security cameras for monitoring the strong rooms till the results, for round the clock. While Naidu is busy in fighting against the EC, at this point of time, Vijay Sai Reddy writing to CEC, to safeguard the EVMs has acquired the significance.
However, it should be noted that while Naidu is trying to fight against the alleged mal-functioning of the EVMs, Vijay Sai Reddy on the contrast, wrote to CEC to protect the EVMs till the results. This clearly indicates that the YSRCP leaders are in no mood of accepting any re-polling, for which Naidu is fighting now and are confident that the polling has been conducted in a fair manner.
A few of the YSRCP leaders already busted Naidu for his protest in Delhi. They opined that the AP CM is just creating unnecessary drama, as he realized that his party is going to lose in the elections. Except one or two places, there were no heavy disturbances at any of the polling booths, the YSRCP leaders opined.
