Vice President Venkaiah Naidu is the latest politician to test positive for the novel Coronavirus.
On Sunday, Mr Naidu tested positive for the virus in Hyderabad. He will remain isolated for one week, his secretariat informed via Twitter.
“The Vice President, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, who is in Hyderabad, tested COVID positive today. He has decided to remain in self-isolation for a week. He has advised all those who came in contact with him to isolate themselves and get tested,” the tweet said.
Meanwhile, India has recorded 3,33,533 new Coronavirus cases in 24 hours, according to the Union health ministry’s data on Sunday. With this, the total caseload stands at 3,92,37,264. With 525 Covid deaths in the same 24 hours, the total reported death count rose to 4,89,409. The country’s active caseload is 21,87,205 at present.
