Veteran Kannada actor Shivaram passed away on Saturday at a private hospital in Bengaluru. He was 88.
As per reports, the veteran actor was admitted to the hospital in the city on Tuesday after he had collapsed at his home. A few days ago, Shivaram met with a car accident in which he may have resulted in a head injury.
Speaking to reporters outside the hospital, his son S Lakshmiah said, “My father Shivaram is no more with us. Doctors at Prashant Hospital had done their best to help him recover but unfortunately, destiny had its plan. We have to accept it.”
Born on January 28, 1938, Shivaram began his career as an assistant director in 1958 and worked with filmmakers KR Seetharama Sastry, Puttanna Kanagal and Singeetam Srinivasa Rao. He started his acting stint with Beratha Jeeva in 1965 and made a mark with Dudde Doddappa and Lagna Patrike.
Shivaram had also directed a film titled Hrudaya Sangama in 1972. He backed a handful of films, including Rajinikanth’s Dharma Durai in Tamil.
