During the pre-poll period of the 2019 general elections, two slogans were trended indefinitely. One is ‘Ravali Jagan… Kavali Jagan’ and the other is ‘Bye Bye Babu’. Both slogans became real at the end as YCP started ruling the state under Jagan’s leadership and the people bid goodbye to Chandra Babu’s rule as well.
Now it seems there is a very deeper meaning to the ‘Bye Bye Babu’ trend. Even though Jagan didn’t encourage any defections into the party officially a huge number of TDP leaders are going YSRCPs way. In the last three days alone 8 TDP leaders resigned the party and joined YSRCP which consists of former MPs, MLCs, and few key leaders.
Some of the TDP leaders even announced March 13 as their ‘Muhurtham’ to join the ruling party. Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad, Ponnapureddy Subba Rami Reddy, Rahman, Tainala Vijay Kumar, Satish Reddy are the most prominent people among them. Former MLA Panchakarla Ramesh and Karanam Balaram already left TDP and are just waiting for the right time to fix their date.
So the ‘Bye Bye Babu’ slogan is also being sung by the majority of TDP leaders as well and this is not at all good sight for the Naidu before the most crucial local body elections in which he wants to show that he is still in the game.
