What ties these men together, and why do they seem to know more about each other than they admit? In a night of shifting loyalties and high-stakes action, Kaali must confront his past before it catches up with him.
What about on-screen performances?
Vikram gives a terrific performance and is the heart and soul of the film. Give him any role, he always gives his best and even at this age, he has done so well in the film.
Be it action sequences or drama, he nails it in his mass look. S J Suryah is also good as the cop but his role reminds us of the character from Nani’s Saripodaa Sanivaaram.
Suraj Venjaramoodu is neat in his role and brings a lot of depth to the film. His behavior in the film and how he behaves are very good.
30 Years Prudhvi plays a key role and is very good as a negative character. Something about his screen presence elevates the proceedings, and he has been used well.
What about off-screen talents?
Cinematographer Theni Eswar uses handheld and single-shot techniques to maintain the story’s intensity and grip. The film happens in one night and the mood of the film has been maintained well.
The screenplay by the director is good. As the film goes back and front in time, it was necessary that it should be crisp and it was to a major extent and handled well.
Arun Kumar has directed the film and he has made sure that the film has enough thrills. The way he has neatly incorporated the twists is also good to see.
The connections to the first and second parts have also been handed well by the director. The references, twists and the connection is quite good in the film.
The film starts on a slow note but the way it has been handled on an intense note is the best part of the film. Also, once the twist is revealed, there is not much interest in the film.
What’s Good?
- Vikram’s performance
- Action blocks
- Drama
What’s Bad?
- Slow Pace
- Dragged ending
Verdict
Overall, Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 has action in a good way. Vikram does well to hold your attention but the pace is slow. If you are okay with this and do not mind the Tamil flavor, give the film a shot.
