Two highly anticipated films, Matka and Kanguva, hit the screens this week, but neither managed to impress audiences. Despite their actors’ relentless efforts, both movies struggled to create the expected impact at the box office.
Varun Tej, known for his calm demeanor, showed an unexpected level of energy during Matka promotions. He traveled extensively, connecting with fans and sharing his excitement. On-screen, his performance and makeover were widely appreciated.
However, the weak narrative and underwhelming execution left audiences disappointed, overshadowing his hard work. Suriya’s Kanguva, on the other hand, came with sky high expectations, especially in Tamil Nadu.
Suriya took on the responsibility of promoting the film globally, but the film’s unconvincing storytelling and overdone drama made it difficult for viewers to connect. Even loyal fans expressed dissatisfaction. While both actors displayed immense dedication, the films’ lackluster execution led to a tough week for them at the box office.
