The Vanpic project of Andhra Pradesh had been strangled in controversies and cases forever now, with not even the slightest bit of resolution having been arrived at, for the project.
However, it looks like the YSRCP government is now getting things ready to go ahead with the project. Interestingly, all those political leaders who were then involved in the Vanpic scam are now occupying major governmental positions, and are even enjoying the benefits that come with great power.
Initially, it was said that the lands given by the farmers for Vanpic were useless, after which the farmers started to once again cultivate their crops.
The ED has also declared that Quid Pro Quo was used in acquiring these lands. Back then, there were also several rumors that these lands were acquired by illegal means, which is why the project got delayed in the first place.
Industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad has even spent some time in Serbia jail, after the Vanpic scam was exposed. He is said to have taken huge amounts of loans from Ras Al Khaimah as well, to invest in the Vanpic project.
With the project coming to a sudden halt, Nimmagadda had nothing to say to them, and has been maintaining a low profile ever since then.
According to the latest reports, the AP government has now sent out notices to the farmers to evacuate their lands and remove all of their crops, so that the Vanpic project can move forward. What comes as a surprise is the government’s involvement in this issue, given that the ED department is looking into it.
Even the previous government had never bothered about what was going on in those lands. This is because when something is looked over by the ED, the government is not supposed to get involved in it, unless the ED asks the government’s help.
The AP government’s involvement is now expected to attract a lot of criticism from various political circles.
