Starring debutantes Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty in the lead roles, the romantic drama ‘Uppena’ has hit the big screens on Friday and has been garnering immense support from the audience. The film opened with positive reports and kept the cash registers ringing at the box office on the first day.
Buchi Babu’s maiden film tells the tale of class divide and how it scares to rip apart two youngsters in love. The film was supposed to hit the cinemas last year, but it got delayed due to the pandemic. While many medium budget films were released on digital streaming platforms, Uppena waited till the theatres opened up. Their wait is now making the team to win a lot of appreciation from the audience.
It is known that Uppena’s digital streaming rights were bagged by Netflix. The deal was inked that streaming giant will stream the film after 60 days, which happens to be on April 11th 2021.
The latest we hear is Netflix is offering to pay even more for an advance release in the third week of March after witnessing the massive footfalls in the theatre. Seems like the makers had made no mistake while making the deal as the film is having a great run at the box office.
