Ustaad Bhagat Singh is a 2026 Telugu-language action drama written and directed by Harish Shankar S. The film stars Pawan Kalyan, Sreeleela & Raashii Khanna in lead roles, with Parthiban, KS. Ravikumar, Temper Vamsi, Gautami, Rao Ramesh, Nawab Shah, Maganti Srinath, Chammak Chandra, Ramki, Pallavi Dora, Vamsee Chaganti, Prabhas Sreenu, Satyam Rajesh, Praveen, Kamal Kamaraju & others are seen in important supporting roles. The songs are composed by Devi Sri Prasad, while the background score is done by Thaman S. The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni & Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili under Mythri Movie Makers banner.

Story:

Chadhala Marri Nalla Nagappa (Parthiban) dreams of being the Chief Minister of Telangana and devises a scheme to eliminate the sitting CM, Chandrasekhar Rao (KS.Ravikumar). At the same time, his son goes on a trip to the Nallamalla forest, but suddenly disappears under mysterious circumstances. As the case unfolds, investigators discover that Ustaad Bhagat Singh (Pawan Kalyan) is responsible for Nagappa’s son’s disappearance.

Who exactly is Ustaad Bhagat Singh? What caused the conflict between him and Nagappa? What chain of events set everything in motion, and what is his ultimate goal? The movie gradually reveals the truth behind these questions.

What about on-screen performances?

Pawan Kalyan delivers a complete one-man show, impressing in a mass avatar. Not just action and powerful dialogues, his comedy timing is also said to be a major highlight. He has put in solid effort for the dance sequences as well, and full credit to him for doing all these for his fans.

Sreeleela gives out an excellent performance as Leela. Her love track with Pawan Kalyan in the second half is adorable and will be loved by all the young crowd.

Raashii Khanna is wasted in an impactless role in the first half. But she looks decent and does well in her limited scenes.

Parthiban brings a unique and understated presence to the main villain role, offering a fresh take that sets him apart from more conventional choices.

Rao Ramesh is okay in his role.

Pallavi Dora & Maganti Srinath get to play key parts, and they both perform well.

KS. Ravikumar, Temper Vamsi, Gautami, Nawab Shah, Chammak Chandra, Ramki, Vamsee Chaganti, Prabhas Sreenu, Satyam Rajesh, Praveen, Kamal Kamaraju, and all others are fine in their limited supporting roles.

What about off-screen talents?

The story by Harish Shankar is quite routine and doesn’t have anything new to offer. Though the whole plot leans heavily on familiar commercial tropes, it neatly packs in all the commercial elements expected from a PSPK entertainer, delivering larger-than-life moments and engaging mass appeal that fans will thoroughly enjoy.

The screenplay follows a classic, crowd-pleasing template, with each scene thoughtfully crafted to elevate the hero’s persona. Moments featuring references to his party symbol, a scene highlighting the Indian Army & soldiers, powerful sequences around Sanatan Dharma, engaging confrontations involving different communities, heartfelt advice on love to the heroines, and impactful one-liners on various topics are all designed to enhance the film’s mass appeal and connect strongly with fans.

Director Harish Shankar does an extraordinary job with his presentation. He showcases Power Star in a way that all the fans are waiting for, and adds all the needed elements to make this film into a pakka commercial entertainer. If Sujeeth brought out the stylish Pawan Kalyan through OG, Harish brings out the Vintage Kalyan through Ustaad.

The dialogues in the film are one of the biggest plus points. They are neatly written, and the massy one-liners and punch dialogues work big time.

Sadly, the songs by Devi Sri Prasad do not work as expected. Except for the Dekhlenge Saala song, the rest of the tracks fail to leave an impact. But the surprise recreation of the “Ee Manase” song from Tholi Prema with Sreeleela in the film is a major highlight of the second half.

The background score by Thaman is superb. He elevates all the action scenes and hero elevation scenes with his thunderous background score.

The cinematography by Ayananka Bose is first-rate. All the frames look grand, and the lighting is decent.

The edit by Karthika Srinivas could have been sharper, especially in the first half.

The production design by Anand Sai is lovely. All the sets look grand on screen. Special mention to all the action choreographers. All the fight scenes are designed neatly and shot well.

The production values by Mythri Movie Makers are top-notch.

What’s Hot?

* Pawan Kalyan’s Performance
* Sreeleela’s Performance
* Massy Action Sequences
* Good Second Half & Ee Manase Recreation
* Kickass Background Score
* Dekhlenge Saala Song & Choreography
* Well Written Dialogues
* Cinematography & Production Values

What’s Not?

* Routine Story
* Flat & Middling First Half
* Few Unwanted Scenes

Verdict: Overall, Ustaad Bhagat Singh is a full-fledged commercial entertainer with all the needed elements for a Power Star film. If you can ignore the routine plot and a few forced elements, the film will entertain you as it has got typical Pawan Kalyan mannerisms, trademark punch lines of Harish Shankar, and a surprise remix song which will be loved by all PSPK fans.
