The Telangana State Government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is taking strong steps to develop sports in the state through its Sports Policy 2025. As part of this effort, the government has formed the Board of Governors for the Telangana Sports Hub.
Upasana Kamineni Konidela, Managing Director of UR Life and Vice Chairperson of CSR at Apollo Hospitals, has been appointed as the Co-Chairman of the Board. Known for her work in health, fitness, and youth-focused initiatives, Upasana is expected to bring fresh ideas and a strong focus on athlete welfare and sports education.
This move shows the government’s commitment to creating a sports system that is free from political influence and built on partnerships with private organizations and experts. The Board will also manage the Telangana Sports Development Fund to ensure fair and effective use of resources.
With Upasana’s leadership, Telangana aims to become a top destination for both national and international sporting excellence.
