The AP government has faced a backlash over the Rayalaseema Upliftment Project. The Union govt has rejected the application for environmental permits for the Rayalaseema project. The Union Forest and Environment Ministry has kept the approval process pending in the wake of the Telangana government’s complaint to the Krishna Waters Tribunal over AP projects.
Also, it ordered to give an explanation to the NGT regarding the complaint, asked to submit project layouts, charts, land acquisition, strategic details within the project area, and details of the amount of water used by the project.
The AP government faced a similar situation in the case of the application seeking an amendment to the ‘Teluguganga’ scheme permits. The Union govt said there was no clarity in the application.
