To a question posed by Telugu Desam Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Kanamedala Ravindra Kumar, about the debts of Andhra Pradesh government, Union Finance Minister Pankaj Chaudhary gave a written answer, stating that the AP government’s debts have doubled since 2019.
In his written reply to the question, Pankaj wrote that AP’s debit currently stands at Rs. 4,42,442 Crores. He also stated that the debit was just Rs. 2,64,451 in 2019.
He said that it was Rs. 3,07,671 Crores in 2020, in 2021 it was Rs. 3,53,021 Crores, after 2022 revised estimates it was Rs. 3,93,718 Crores, and according to 2023 budget estimates, the current debt of AP is 4,42,442 crores.
