Delhi: Needless to say, this is a worsening corona phase, where people are trembling with fear out of cluelessness as to when the pandemic ends. In these tough times, reports citing patients as positive in the covid-19 test has become a new business.
It was the doctor and his assistant who tried to cash in unabashedly on the fear of the people at such a catastrophic time. The accused were identified as Kush Bihari Parashar, a doctor from Malviyanagar in Delhi, and his assistant Amit Singh, police said.
A businessman who provides services to nurses in the city of Delhi hired two of his nurses and approached Kush Bihari to perform covid tests in prior. With this the doctor collected samples from them and sent a fake report under the name of a reputed diagnostic center.
However, due to a mistake in the name of a nurse, the trader phoned the diagnostic center directly and urged them to rectify and send a new report.
However, the doctor of the actual diagnostic centre denied that there’s no person with such name. On filing a case on Kush Bihari by the trader at a local police station in Delhi, the police booked two of them for creating fake reports.
Police stated that the doctor and his assistant created fake covid positive reports to patients who approached him. According to the accused, he charged Rs 2,400 per test and has been committing this forgery for the last two, two and a half months
