The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is one of the biggest religious sites in the world, with crores of people visiting Lord Venkateshwara every single day. The numbers have been dwindling since the pandemic, but devotees always make it a point to visit the Lord, whenever the situations seem better. For any devotee to be able to visit the Lord, there are different types of seva options, and tickets available on the TTD website, to avail.
In recent days, whenever devotees are trying to book their tickets, they are being redirected to Jio Mart website, where they are booking their tickets. It is already known that the ticketing service of the TTD has been handed over to Jio Mart, and there’s no secret about that. However, the TTD governing body is now threatening everyone that serious actions would be taken against those who wrongly publicise the same.
The TTD governing body said that they handed over the service to Jio Mart when Srivari’s devotees said that they would offer free seva. The point to be noted here is, how would it be free seva, when over one crore of these people have been enlisted as part of the TTD? What devotees feel is that there is a way and a method to do everything, and the way that the TTD went about handing over the ticket booking service to Jio Mart is not right.
