The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) released a white paper on Saturday, announcing the list of its assets, including fixed and gold deposits. The TTD also declared that the investment guidelines of the board have been strengthened a lot when compared to what they were in 2019. Rumors about the TTD chairman and the board planning on investing surplus funds in the Securities of the Andhra Pradesh government have also been denied by the board.
The board revealed that it has 10.3 tonnes of gold deposits in nationalized banks, whose worth is more than Rs. 5,300 Crores, and that it has cash deposits of Rs. 15,938 Crores in nationalized banks as well. The TTD estimated the total worth of its assets to be at Rs. 2.26 Lakh Crores.
Going by a bank-wise investment shared by the trust, the TTD had 7339.74 tons of gold deposits in 2019, and 2.9 tons of gold has been added to it in the last three years. The assets of the TTD also include 960 properties spread over 7,123 acres across India. The income made by the temple comes only from donations by the devotees, businesses, and by institutions.
