The Telangana government passed an official order, imposing a ban on all crackers during Diwali. This order came after the High Court passed its judgement, stating that no crackers be lit this Diwali.
All fire-cracker shops have been ordered to be closed immediately, and the government has instructed all DGP collectors, CPs, and SPs to make sure that no one is going against the law, and that the orders passed by the government and the High Court are upheld.
The Telangana High Court, on Thursday, ordered the government to take all necessary precautions and steps to make sure that there’s no burning of crackers anywhere in the state, during the Diwali festival. The HC also ordered the government to make sure that every single shop selling fore-crackers be shut down immediately.
Furthermore, the HC asked the government to spread awareness of not burning any fire-crackers during the upcoming festival, through print and social media platforms. The HC and the government plan to limit and possibly eradicate the air pollution that is caused during the festival of Diwali, with so many fire-crackers burning all through the night.
The government is to submit a full report of all the steps that it has taken to make sure that no fire-crackers are burnt in the state, on the 19th of November, to the High Court of Telangana.
