US President Donald Trump has expressed his gratitude on twitter to India for PM Modi’s strong leadership in not only helping India but the whole humanity in this combat. In times of crisis in US, support from India has been appreciated and he thanked the decision of the Indian government for exporting hydroxy chloroquine.
Hours after US President Donald Trump thanked PM Modi for relaxing the ban and sending hydroxychloroquine to the US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday took to Twitter in response to Trump’s note of thanks, PM Modi said, Fully agree with you President @realDonaldTrump Times like these bring friends closer. The India-US partnership is stronger than ever. India shall do everything possible to help humanity’s fight against COVID-19. We shall win this together.
Earlier India imposed a temporary ban on essential drugs. However, it partially lifted the ban and has announced that it will supply essential drugs on humanitarian grounds to countries fighting with Corona. Till date, India has exported nearly 29 million doses of drugs to the United States.
Three Gujarat-based companies took up the job to export Hydroxychloroquine tablets to the US, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani stated on Tuesday. India is the leading producer of this anti-malaria drug in the world.
The pandemic has claimed the lives of nearly 14,000 people in the United States. Millions of people have been infected with the deadly virus and the situation has aggravated, especially in New York and New Jersey. The number of Indians killed in the US with Corona has spiked to 11 as per latest reports.
