It is known that Donald Trump is set to take charge as the 47th president of the United States very soon. Meanwhile, in view of his reelection as the US president, celebrations have begun in a rural village in Telangana, as strange as it may sound.
The villagers of Konne, Jangaon district in Telangana, celebrated Donald Trump’s re-election as U.S. president by garnishing a statue of Trump that was set up there by a local named Bussa Krishna.
Bussa Krishna, who passed away in 2020, had been an ardent supporter of Trump, even fasting and praying for his well-being during his first term.
After hearing of Trump’s recent victory, villagers gathered around Trump statue, ceremonially cleaning it, garlanding it with flowers, and offering coconuts. Many local residents joined Krishna’s friends in a small prayer ceremony, lighting incense and performing a traditional harati ritual, a customary act of respect for deities.
