A TRS leader allegedly attacked at Rehmath Nagar in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad on Saturday.
Identified as Umakanth, the victim is a pan shop owner. TRS leader K Arun Kumar has stopped him on road and engaged in a quarrel, allegedly for not greeting him with respect., even after recognizing him. Not stopping there, the politician also set his bike on fire.
“Arun Kumar was seen drinking. He brandished a knife and threatened me, accusing me of not respecting him. My vehicle was also set ablaze,” Umakanth said.
The police who were alerted about the issue, reached out to the spot. Reportedly, Arun Kumar and his associates also used filthy language and got into a scuffle with the police. The police registered the case, based on Umakanth’s complaint, under relevant sections of IPC.
