It was in the news recently that all the 62 celebrities who were on the list for allegedly consuming drugs were set free. But the excise department has clarified today that the investigation is still going on and none of the celebrities were given any clean chit in the case till now.
“We have filed Seven Chargesheets in this case so far and will file five more. We are still in the process of gathering the evidence. We are submitting the evidence to the court as and when we got them. There is no question of giving clean chit to anyone. Everyone involved will be punished,” the concerned officials said.
The issue which shook the entire film industry in the past, was kept calm for long, for unknown reasons. But when a social worker, recently inquired about it through the information act, several news channels have reported that the said social worker was informed that all the celebrities were given clean chit in the case.
This received a huge criticism on the social media, with several netizens opining that the law is in the favor of big people. But slashing all the media reports, the excise department officials themselves came forward to clarify on the issue today saying that the investigation is still on and anyone who found guilty will not be spared.
