A car was seized by the police department at the borders of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, and a sum of Rs. 5 Crores were found inside. The car had a Tamil Nadu registration, and surprisingly, the car had MLA Balineni’s sticker on it.
A total of five members were found in the car, but only three of them, including the driver, were caught by the police, while the actual two culprits have escaped. With MLA Balineni’s sticker on the back of the car, rumors started circulating, saying that the car and the money belong to him.
The car was travelling to Chennai from Prakasam district, during which the police happened to check and seize the car. The police have confirmed that the car was leaving for Chennai, despite many news articles from Tamil Nadu circulating the opposite. The money that has been seized has now been handed over to the IT department, and the details of those who have been caught are being found out by the police.
While the details of the car, and details of its owner are still unknown, it is being speculated that the car belong to a gold merchant from Ongole in Prakasam district. It is being said that the car went out from his house, when raids were being done on the Gold Merchant’s house.
On the other hand, MLA Balineni clarified that he has nothing to do with the car or the money in it, and said that he couldn’t be linked up to the incident just because his sticker was on the car.
