Three individuals have been arrested in connection with a tragic stampede at the Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad during the premiere of Allu Arjun’s film, “Pushpa 2,” on December 4. The incident resulted in the death of 39-year-old Revathi, while her nine-year-old son remains in critical condition.
Following a complaint from Revathi’s family, police detained the theater’s owner, manager, and security in charge. The police have filed a case against Allu Arjun and the theater management for negligence, citing their failure to manage the large crowd effectively. Reports also suggest that Allu Arjun has to go to court to get a relief or bail, failing so will make him remanded.
Eyewitnesses reported chaos as fans rushed to see Allu Arjun, leading to a dangerous crush. The police noted that there were no prior arrangements for crowd control or separate entry points for the actor’s team. In response to the tragedy, Allu Arjun announced a compensation of ₹25 lakh for Revathi’s family and pledged to cover medical expenses for her injured son. The incident has drawn significant criticism towards both the actor and the theater management.
