It is already known news that the ace director Sukumar’s protégés have already made their directorial debut and few assistants are ready to wield the mega phone.
Among them Buchi Babu Sana, a former protégé of Sukumar is all set to make his debut with new film Uppena, which also marks debut of Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s nephew Panja Vaisshnav Tej.
The film is being produced under Mythri Movie Makers with Sukumar presenting it. Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi is playing an important role and Devika Sanjay is the female lead opposite Panja Vaishnav.
As per our close sources, Sukumar recently watched so far canned footage of the film and expressed doubts over films commercial viability. It is learnt that Uppena is an experimental offbeat film set in the backdrop of a sea.

A source close to Sukumar said that the star director is doubtful about the experimental subject getting commercial applause. Though Sukumar suggested to make changes in the script or come up with another story, Buchi Babu is pretty confident about the film impressing audience.
Well, we have to wait and see how this debut director impresses the audience with his script.
Vaisshnav Tej will be seen as a fisherman and Devika will be seen as landlord Vijay Sethupathi’s daughter. The film will release in 2020.
