It is known that New Zealand defeated India last week to become the inaugural World Test Champions. Team India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin said that the defeat was painful. He said the New Zealand players celebrated on the field until 12 am after winning the match. He revealed that their celebration sounded like war slogans.
“After the match, New Zealand have this custom of celebrating with the trophy and a few drinks in the dressing room. It was tough to see it. They celebrated until 12. They even arrived at the pitch, and it sounded like a war cry to express their happiness. It was quite upsetting to see as we couldn’t make it,” he said.
Ravichandran Ashwin also said they were in the bubble completely. So, after a long time, we can get some fresh air and step out.
The start of the five-Test series with England is another month away. Players are given a three-week break as cases were low in Britain. The cricketers who came out of the bio-bubble are travelling around the country with their families.
