Directed by Tamil director Lingusamy, The Warriorr starring Ram Pothineni and Kirthi Shetty as the lead pair has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.
Story:
A Hyderabad based doctor Satya( Ram Pothineni) goes to Kurnool to do job at the government hospital. After landing in Kurnool, Satya witnesses the dominance of a local rowdy Guru( Aadhi Pinnisetty). To keep a check to Guru’s unethical control on Kurnool, Satya misses from the action for two years and later lands in Kurnool as Satya IPS. Rest of the story deals with the cat and mouse game between Satya and Guru.
On screen performances:
Hero Ram Pothineni is good in his role as a tough and aggressive cop. The way he modulated himself for the character is good. While his look as a doctor is cool, Ram mannerisms and styling in the cop role are major plus of the second half proceedings.
Undoubtedly, Aadhi Pinnisetty is show stealer as the actor just lived in his role as a baddie. Be it his avatar or dialogue delivery, Aadhi is perfect in the role.
Heroine Krithi Shetty is adorable on screen and her chemistry with Ram is good. Along with her cute acting, the young beauty impresses with her dancing skills in two songs with Ram.
Supporting artists such as Brahmaji, Nadiya, Akshara Gowda among others perfectly fitted in the given roles.
Off-screen talents:
Music by Devi Sri Prasad is apt for the film’s genre. Though his tunes are routine, they are foot-tapping, the background score for all the key portions is done in a superb manner and elevates all mood of the film.
The photography work by Sujith Vaasudev registers as he captured the rustic flavour in the film nicely. Editing by Naveen Nooli is okay. The production design work is good as all the sets are used properly. The production values for this actioner are good.
Positive Points:
- Ram and Aadhi Pinnisetty
- The confrontation scenes between Ram and Aadhi in the second half
- Two songs
Negative Points:
- Regular template narrative
- Lacks gripping action
Verdict:
In an overview, The Warriorr is a routine but passable cop drama that has good performances from the lead actors. While Ram is okay in the cop role, Aadhi Pinnisetty did his part quite effectively. Overall, the film has high chances to perform decently in the mass centres.
