YS Sharmila is making everything ready for the official launch of her party in Telangana, on July 8th. Before she can do that though, Sharmila is facing a major hurdle in state politics, related to the water disputes between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Sharmila is now in a tight situation where she isn’t able to support any side, as supporting any one side would turn out to be disastrous for her. Members of the TRS are targeting YSR, Jagan, and the members of the YSRCP, in the construction of the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation project and the constitution of the right canal of the RDS project.
In the past, Sharmila said that the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are important to her, but clarified that if she were to pick a side, she would always pick the side of the people of Telangana. One might think that Sharmila could stick to the same stance right now, but if Sharmila speaks in favour of the Telangana people, it would directly go against her father YSR’s aspirations, and she definitely can’t speak on the contrary, as that would mean an end to her political career in the state.
For now, Sharmila seems to have decided to stay silent on the subject, which is the best stance that she can take, considering that the repercussions of her statements – whatever they may be – will not be good for her.
