The YSR Congress Party government in Andhra Pradesh is getting ready to adopt a resolution in the state assembly on Monday Because to remove the State Legislative Council because it has become a hindrance to the implementation of the decisions of the government. The President of the Legislative Council, Mohammad Ahmed Sharif, announced the formation of a selection committee to examine the bills.
According to sources, the chairman of the Legislative Council has constituted two select committees and not one to study the two bills separately. One by creating the AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) and the other three capitals on decentralization of state administration.
Finance Minister Bugna Rajendranath Reddy will lead the selection committee on the decentralization bill, while municipal administration minister Botsa Satyanarayana will lead the bill to repeal the APCRDA Act.
Sources said that each committee would have five MLCs of Telugu Desam Party, two members of YSRC, and one member each of Progressive Democratic Front and Bharatiya Janata Party. There can be one member of the Governor’s quota.
The office of Legislative Council appealed to the parties to suggest the names of the members for the committees. Sources said that a full committee would be formed after the committee members are nominated.
