Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has strongly objected to the attitude of the Legislative Council Speaker. The Chief Minister said in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday that the Legislative Council is working according to the rules. Are they working for a person or a party? Is it going according to the wishes of government the people, or it works for the benefit of loser party leader?

CM Jagan said that the work of the Legislative Council is only to give advice and suggestions. But the bills passed in the Legislative Assembly are being stopped in the Legislative Council from making laws. YS Jagan said that the Legislative Council President insisted on making a mistake even though he was aware of the error. Speaker’s attitude, “It is wrong to kill. Still, I murder. Isn’t the behavior of the Legislative Council akin to killing democracy?

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy said that whether the Legislative Council approves the Bill related to the decentralization of Andhra Pradesh capital is a different matter. The Legislative Council has the right to send this Bill back to the Legislative Assembly by amending the members expressing some objections. Despite this, the Chairman of Legislative Council, using his prerogative, addressed the members of the Council on the Bill. The council president himself said that according to the rules, there is no possibility of sending the Bill to the select committee. Despite this, he has sent the Bill to the Select Committee against the rules. Supporting such a reaction would lead to the collapse of democratic values.

After this, CM Jagan ran the speech video of Speaker in the Legislative Council in the Assembly. The Chief Minister said that there are highly educated people in the Vidhan Sabha. The Legislative Council consists of engineers, physicians, professors, journalists, and retired IAS officers. Six hundred crore rupees are being spent every year for the Council. Is it necessary for the Legislative Council to pay such a massive amount in the poverty-stricken Andhra Pradesh? It must be thought. What is the need to maintain this Council working against the mandate? Everybody believes that it is unfair to keep a council working against the rules.

The Chief Minister said that the Chairman of the Council, Sharif himself, said that the word capital had not been used anywhere in the Constitution. Only the seat of governance mentioned.

He said that the then Chief Minister Chandrababu had run the administration from Visakhapatnam for ten days when the storm came. The administration will run wherever the Chief Minister is. It is a right given by the public. The Minister and Secretary support Chief Minister. According to Article 174 of the Constitution, the administration can run from anywhere in the state. Even with such a provision, the Telugu Desam is doing drama in the name of the party movement. Even with such a rule, the Telugu Desam is doing comedy in the name of the party movement.

YS Jagan said that only six states in the country have legislative councils. YS Jagan said that the English medium bill also stopped. Stop leaders are not teaching their children through the Telugu medium. He further said that what will benefit them by stopping the welfare bill of ordinary people?
