The Telangana government has cracked a whip on the private hospitals in the wake of allegations of negligence in corona treatment and extortion. The government has so far revoked the licenses of 10 hospitals and recently, six more. Covid treatment license has been revoked for the respective hospitals. The government has revoked the license of Padmaja Hospital-KPHB, Lifeline Medicare Hospital-Alwal, Maxcare Hospital-Hanmakonda, TX Hospital-Uppal, Lalita Hospital-Warangal, and Sri Sairam Hospital-Sangareddy.
The Department of Health has issued orders to all six hospitals to continue treatment for all patients currently receiving treatment and not to admit new corona patients. So far, 16 hospitals across Telangana have had their covid treatment licenses revoked. 166 complaints have been received against 105 hospitals, the health ministry said.
