The Telugu Film Journalist Association (TFJA) recently held an important meeting with senior law enforcement officials, including the Director General of Police of Telangana, Ravigupta, and the Commissioner of Police of Hyderabad, Kothakota Srinivasa Reddy. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the widespread issue of fake news on social media.
Led by TFJA President V. Lakshminarayana and General Secretary Y. J. Rambabu, and joined by members of the Telugu Film Digital Media Association (TFDA), including President Prema and Treasurer Siva Mallala, the group addressed the negative effects of false information on the Telugu film sector.
The discussion focused on how certain individuals are spreading harmful and untrue information, targeting prominent industry figures such as producers, directors, and actors with damaging rumors and attacks.
The police officials expressed their dedication to resolving this issue and promised to investigate and act against those spreading false information on social media, websites, and YouTube.
The officials recognized the value of truthful and ethical reporting and encouraged the TFJA and TFDA to maintain their efforts in promoting journalistic standards in the Telugu film industry.
A commitment was made to begin identifying and arresting the culprits within two days, and a joint meeting between union members and police was planned to further tackle this serious matter.
The TFJA’s proactive approach highlights the critical need to protect the reputation and integrity of the Telugu film industry in today’s digital world.
