Young Indian cricketer Tilak Varma has secured a remarkable achievement in the history of Indian cricket. He has become the youngest Indian player to score a half-century in the T20 format, accomplishing this milestone during the second T20I match against the West Indies.
Tilak Varma is only the second player, following Rohit Sharma, to attain this remarkable feat. Varma achieved his maiden half-century at the age of 20 years and 271 days, while Indian captain Rohit Sharma achieved this feat at 20 years and 143 days. Rishabh Pant (21 years 38 days), Robin Uthappa (21 years 307 days), and Suresh Raina (22 years 90 days) hold the 3rd, 4th, and 5th positions, respectively.
In the second T20 match against the West Indies, the Indian team won the toss and chose to bat, scoring 152 runs while losing 7 wickets within the stipulated 20 overs. However, the West Indies won the match by reaching the target in the 19th over. Nicolas Pooran (wk) with 67 off 40 balls paved the way for the team to win the second T20 in the five match series.
